Luana is a University Innovation Fellow and is currently coursing her second semester of bioengineering at UTEC. On campus, she is a member of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community, and is part of the national dances club recently founded. She has recently started working on a new tech-ed startup, Check.pe, that has been selected by UTEC Ventures to be part of their accelerator.

Ever since she was little, she has been very interested in everything related to entrepreneurship and business, having had the intention of selling everything from pastry to used clothes from the age of 6. Even though she's always liked business, she chose to study bioengineering due to her passion for biology and curiosity regarding the human body. Taking this into account, her main purpose is to find and follow a path that combines both bioengineering and nutrition, and be able to empower people through an adecuate nourishment. Her constant curiosity and desire for learning led her to apply to the UIF program, and it showed her the best ways to tackle and solve various problems, which can be applied either to the her current personal and academic, and eventually professional life.
