Bio
Isabel Gouveia is a President's List student at Elon University studying political science and journalism with a minor in international and global studies. Aside from her dedication to the UIF 2021 Cohort and her academic pursuits, Isabel is a research assistant for Tom Sanderson Consulting, a geopolitical risk firm based out of Washington D.C. Isabel's research has included but is not limited to foreign direct investment, global trade, violent non-state actors, cybercrime, and other transnational threats. Recently, Isabel was accepted into the American Enterprise Institute's Executive Council, where she will represent Elon University and bring public policy discussions to Elon's campus. Isabel is a journalist for Elon News Network and a member and new member program council social chair of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Isabel is also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and hopes to pursue a law degree post-graduation. A lover of learning, Isabel is passionate about global policy and foreign affairs and hopes to bring some of that to light through the University Innovation Fellows Program.
