Bio
Hello there! I'm Deya and currently, I'm immersed in the world of Civil Engineering, and let me tell you, it's a fascinating ride. Why did I choose this career? Because I've got this burning passion for being part of mega projects that don't just wow everyone, but also sustainably hug our planet.
When I'm not buried in blueprints, you'll find me engaged in various extracurricular endeavors. Volunteering is my way of giving back and making a positive impact on the community during my free hours. Also, I firmly believe in sports' power to rejuvenate the soul. Volleyball, in particular, is my go-to stress reliever. That feeling of spiking the ball is almost therapeutic, you could say.
There's something else that truly fuels my fire – the pursuit of enhancing the university experience for fellow students. I'm convinced that effective communication is the key to unlocking great achievements. This has led me to focus on brainstorming ways to foster improved student interactions and overall experiences. My skill set includes teamwork, leadership, creative ideation, and, naturally, adept communication. I also find fulfillment in assisting fellow students by conducting workshops to enhance their soft skills. It's rewarding to witness their growth, knowing I've contributed to their journey. Additionally, I enjoy organizing events that immerse them further in the captivating world of Civil Engineering. These initiatives inform and inspire, nurturing curiosity and a sense of exploration.
While I'm enthusiastic about my hobbies and aspirations, I'm also proud of the person I've become. Friendliness, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility are attributes that define me. So, if you're up for a chat, volunteering, or a volleyball match, hit me up! Life's too short to miss out on all the awesomeness it has to offer.
Achievements
- Back in my school days, I achieved something quite notable – I secured the second spot nationwide in the INACAL normalization competition. This achievement really showcased my dedication and skills. And when it was time to step into university, my hard work paid off yet again. Thanks to my unwavering commitment to my studies, I managed to earn a full scholarship.
- Within the university, I kept up my momentum. I took on the role of a peer mentor, helping and guiding fellow students on their academic journey. Moving on to 2021, I embraced leadership roles with enthusiasm. I served as the Vice President of the Geotechnical Committee at ASTM UTEC (American Society for Testing and Materials), actively contributing to the progress of this organization. Simultaneously, I also became the Director of Workshops and Workshops at ASCE UTEC (American Society of Civil Engineers), adding another layer to my leadership experience. This momentum carried me forward, as I took on the position of Vice President for the same organization from 2022 onwards – a clear testament to both my dedication and the trust my peers had in me.
- In academic terms, I am extremely proud to be in the top percentile of students. This recognition underscores my dedication to excellence and my unwavering pursuit of knowledge. Taken together, these achievements are strong indicators of my dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm to make significant contributions in my academic career and beyond.
