Fellow:Abby Cooper
Abby Cooper is a University Innovation Fellow and an undergraduate student at Grand Valley State University. She is pursuing a major in Graphic Design and a minor in Marketing. Abby is originally from Brighton, Michigan, and she currently resides in Allendale, Michigan.
At Grand Valley State University (GVSU), Abby is a member of the Design Thinking Academy, and an executive board member of the Social Innovation Club. In addition, Abby works in the marketing department as the Graphic Designer for Grand Valley’s Campus Recreation program.
Abby has always been passionate about creativity and innovation. She has been involved in the visual arts, such as drawing, painting and design since elementary education. In 2018, her recent work was displayed in spaces around Grand Valley such as the Calder Art Center and the Mary Idema Pew Library in an exhibit titled “A Selfie: The Body Extended”. During her freshman year of college, Abby strengthened her passion for innovation and entrepreneurship and art through her involvement in an honors course called “Design Thinking for Social Product Innovation”, beginner level entrepreneurship courses, and several foundational art courses. She plans on combining her passions, and deepening the relationships between art and business, as well as art and innovation.
