Bio
Sofía Giuca is a Management & Digital Business student from UTEC (based in Peru) with a strong interest in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology. As a University Innovation Fellow, she works to bring creative and practical change to her university by empowering peers and collaborating with faculty to shape more entrepreneurial and student-centered learning experiences.
She enjoys solving complex problems through creative but pragmatic approaches, often blending design, business, and technology. With experience in both startups and corporate innovation teams, Sofía has led and supported projects that focus on understanding user needs, designing better experiences (UX), and building early product prototypes (UI). Her work spans product management, innovation programs, and student-led initiatives always with a hands-on and user-centered mindset.

Harvard SEAS - UTEC Collaborative Field Program (Jan 2024 - Sept 2024)
In a collaborative effort between Harvard SEAS and UTEC, Sofia worked closely with farming communities in the Sacred Valley, Cusco. Her role focused on identifying and addressing the impact of climate change on high-altitude agricultural communities. Through a systems-thinking approach, she contributed to developing sustainable solutions to mitigate these challenges. Key areas of her involvement included teamwork, design thinking, and entrepreneurial efforts in complex, real-world environments.
Business Innovation Intern at Banco de Crédito BCP (2023 - 2025)
As a Business Innovation Intern at the Innovation Hub (CIX) of Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), Sofia researched and tested new business models for digital products and banking startups focused on banking. She has contributed to market research, stakeholder management, and the monitoring of technology development indicators. Her responsibilities included ideation and the development of innovative solutions to validate opportunities for growth.
Operations & Program Intern at UTEC Ventures (2023 - 2024)
During her time at UTEC Ventures, Sofia was responsible for the design, structure, and management of the Incubation (IncUVa) and Pre-incubation (PreIncUVa) Programs. Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score (NPS) and ensuring the smooth operation of these programs, which provided university students and startups with the resources and knowledge to grow their ventures. Her expertise in project planning and content development was instrumental in coordinating activities with guest speakers, including entrepreneurs and investors.
1st Place in Alicorp's Hackathon (2022)
Sofia demonstrated her problem-solving and leadership abilities by winning first place in Alicorp's Hackathon, a competition that challenged participants to devise solutions to optimize client management using data and technology. Her team worked under intense pressure for three days, developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and pitching their solution to the jury. Her focus during the competition was on elevator pitches, teamwork, and business analysis.
Project Intern at Dench Consulting (2021 - 2022)
In her role at Dench Consulting, Sofia contributed to research, the development of consulting proposals, and the formulation of actionable solutions for clients with complex problems. She was responsible for monitoring project progress and helping clients achieve their business objectives through tailored strategies.
Vice-Coordinator at SpinOut UTEC (2021 - 2022)
As Vice-Coordinator of SpinOut UTEC, the first innovation and entrepreneurship community in Peru, Sofia took on leadership responsibilities, mentoring startups and overseeing the pre-incubation program. She facilitated workshops in design thinking, business model development, and pitching, helping young entrepreneurs refine their ideas and prepare for market entry.
Tech4Impact Summer School at EPFL (2021)
Sofia participated in the Tech4Impact Summer School led by EPFL, a program aimed at addressing global societal challenges through sustainable entrepreneurship. During this immersive experience, she worked alongside an international cohort to develop sustainable solutions and enhance her intercultural communication and teamwork skills.
