(Updated my profile to reflect my current academic and professional path since becoming a University Innovation Fellow in 2018. This includes my transition from Biomedical Engineering to Human Biology, my research and teaching experience, and my involvement in IEEE EMBS. Natalia Suárez is a University Innovation Fellow from Universidad Tecnológica del Uruguay (UTEC) studying Biomedical Engineering. Her research interest includes clinical engineering, neuro-engIeering, tissue engineering, and product design.<br>

Natalia Suárez is a University Innovation Fellow from Uruguay. She became a UIF in 2018 while studying Biomedical Engineering at UTEC, and later became a UI Guide, helping other Fellows through their own UIF experience. A lot has changed since then: she changed degrees, discovered new areas of science, worked on many different projects, and somehow ended up with even more things she wants to learn about.
  
Natalia is originally from Paysandú, Uruguay, where she lived until 2017 when she moved to Fray Bentos, Río Negro to study at Universidad Tecnológica. While she was in high-school studying computer science and information technology she was introduced to divers maker marathons, labs, science fairs and camps that let her build a path through 2 majors; health and technology. She also seeks to improve education, emphasizing mental health, and raising awareness of neurobiological disorders.<br>

She also enjoys researching open source biomedical equipment, personalized medicine, brain computer interface and tissue engineering. She is currently in a competition about brain-computer interface controlled vehicles.<br>

Natalia's interest in technology and health started long before she knew exactly what she wanted to study. Growing up, she was always looking for something new to learn or build, and computer science became one of the first ways she found to turn curiosity into something tangible. Later, biomedical engineering gave her a way to connect that interest with helping others. Moving into Human Biology was another step in that same process: getting closer to the biological questions that originally made her interested in healthcare.
  
From a very young age, Natalia was interested in innovation, technology, and health. This makes her join many extracurricular advanced activities to always keep learning, this taught her that one is never too young to learn. Growing up, she was also involved in music, learning to play piano and guitar, and in sports learning rowing, skating, and taekwondo.<br>
