Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) is a government institution located in Bandung, West Java Province, Indonesia. This started back to the 20th century when the Dutch colonial government established De Technische Hoogeschool te Bandung (THS) on July 3, 1920, on a 30-hectare plot of land in Bandung. At that time, there was only one faculty, de Faculteit van Technische Wetenschap and only one major, namely de afdeeling der We gen Waterbouw. ITB has vision as an outstanding, distinguished, independent, and internationally recognized university that leads changes toward welfare improvement of the Indonesian nation and the world. Now ITB has graduated 120.000 alumni who have significant roles in developing the country. ITB now has 12 Faculties/Schools, 128 study programs, 111 research groups, 25 centers, 7 research centers, and 7 centers of excellence. ITB is located at 3 places, that are Ganesha Campus, Jatinangor Campus, and Cirebon Campus. ITB has also become the leading national university, and a leader in the development of research, technology, and arts in Indonesia.

To fullfil student's needs of academic, interest, and assembling, ITB has diverse organizational where in general is divided into 2 main part, major-based student communion ("Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan") and Extracurricular Unit ("Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa"). 45 student communions are built based on the same science and knowledge to fulfill the academic and also social skills development (Lists of student communions). Extracurricular Unit or UKM is campus-level student organization that has purpose of developing student interest, talent, and specific skills. UKM is divided into 5 clumb, religion, art and culture, sport, education, study, and media (List of Extracurricular Units). Besides those 2 main parts organizations, ITB also has some communities with spesific interests and focuses (List of communities). All of these dynamic life are centered with one university-level organization called "Keluarga Mahasiswa (KM) ITB".
