Josh Jay grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. After graduating from Eden Prairie High School, he decided to take a gap year to grow as a Christian and as a leader. Josh was a part of a program through Leadertreks that was focused on developing young leaders who would be able to create change. While in the program he developed a passion for showing others how they can be leaders, and spent the following summer working for Leadertreks as an intern. During the summer he helped lead 9 weeks of youth group mission trips and backpacking trips geared toward experientially teaching leadership to the students. Josh continues to learn better ways to be a leader and to teach that to others.

In the Fall of 2017 Josh started his freshman year at Michigan Technological University. He will major in Materials Science and Engineering. As a University Innovation Fellow in training at Michigan Tech, Josh has seen the importance of innovation on campuses and because of his passion for leadership has seen how leadership and innovation can work side by side. Josh hopes to show get other students excited for innovation on and off campus.
