Bio

Janell Odom is a junior biology major at the first HBCU in the South, Shaw University. She hails from the Bullcity, Durham, NC. She is active on her campus. She serves as Miss Junior in the Royal Court and Student Government Association, the Vice President of the Beta Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, the Vice President of the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS), the Communications Director of the Honors Advisory Board, and a Peer Orientation Mentor (POM).

After completing her undergrad career at Shaw University, she will attend graduate school with aspirations of becoming a microbiologist or genetic counselor.
