Bio
Vonda Reed is the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Assistant Professor of Biology at Shaw University where she has been since 2008. Before her current position, she was the Biology Program Coordinator for 8 years. Vonda has K-12 teaching experience as well. Her philosophy is that student learning can be strengthened if students are provided with diverse engaging activities to meet their needs. She is a supporter of diversity, equity, and inclusion! Moreover, she believes learning is a partnership in which both student and educator should make decisions and share work together to build life-long learning skills. Vonda also believes that shared decision-making is part of developing a professional group of educators who through their own healthy enthusiasm, create the potential for healthy, enthusiastic learners! Her research interest and motivation include engaging pedagogical techniques and activities to enhance student learning. Vonda also supports Shaw University’s fabulous faculty by providing assistance with their professional and pedagogical needs.
