Gillian first found interest in innovation and entrepreneurship through startup companies in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. In the spring of 2017, she had the opportunity to attend her first Angel Investment meeting with Blue Tree Allied Angels. Immediately, she was intrigued by the process and vowed to learn more. By the summer of 2018, she had become an active participant in Next Act Fund, a woman-led Angel Investment group also in Pittsburgh. Her interest in start-up companies and the endless entrepreneurial possibilities are a few reasons why Gillian became a University Innovation Fellow.
