Josh Cadorette is a University Innovation Fellows candidate who attends Elon University in North Carolina. His intended major is Finance with minors in Science and Leadership Studies. Josh is originally from Media, Pennsylvania which is located just outside of Philadelphia. At Elon, Josh is a part of the Leadership Fellows - a program that works to develop students' leadership skills to impact themselves, their community, and the world around them. In addition, he works as a technology consultant with Emerging Leaders in Technology at Elon and serves as a University Ambassador for the non-partisan National Campaign for Political and Civic Engagement. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the alto saxophone and golf. From a young age, Josh possessed an interest with entrepreneurship as he ran a small landscaping operation in his neighborhood. Since then, he has interned with Junior Achievement at SAP where he helped start two student-run ventures and has more recently interned with Quantum Strategies in West Chester, PA to further develop his knowledge of investment management.

Serving UIF Since: September 2016

School: Elon University '19

What I'm up to now: Product Owner for AI engine that will make delivery of health and human services functions more effective/efficient.

What that means: I work in technology for government and public services clients as my day job and facilitate the on-boarding, design thinking training, team bonding, leadership development, and self-reflection for UIF candidates on the side. I have found that mentoring fellows candidates is both energizing and insightful!

What I accomplished as a Fellow at Elon: Secured funding for UIF with key stakeholders, created new leadership roles within UIF to enhance accountability, facilitated the recruitment of 8 new fellows, restructured the on-boarding of new candidates, & developed a speaker series to bridge Business/STEM communities on-campus

What you'd find me doing in my free time: Hiking/camping; whiteboarding out problems/ideas and their solutions/plans; reading/writing about education, well-being, and the relationship between mind + machine; cheering on the Eagles, Sixers, or Phillies

Why I continue to serve UIF: There are some problems in this world that need to be solved, and solutions begin with servant leaders who can envision, organize, and execute a plan of action by collaborating with their peers - all lessons fundamental to the UIF experience.

Where to find more information: I host my portfolio and distribute essays, newsletters, and podcasts at joshcadorette.com.
