[[File:0.jpg|frame|0.jpg]]Alberto Goncalves is a University Innovation Fellow, an undergraduate student studying Finance at Iona College, and is a part of the class of 2020. Alberto is from Westfield, NJ and he is a commuter student. In March of 2017, James Hynes '69, '01H, and his wife Anne Marie Hynes announced that they were donating $15 million to the College to create the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
At Iona College, Alberto became involved with the Hynes Institute after going to one of the workshops held at Gael Ventures (Campus incubator). Alberto was then invited to join the team as the first intern and became involved with the incubator's 3D printer. Alberto now helps students design and prototype their designs for both class projects and business ventures.

Outside of school, Alberto recently started volunteering at an urban high school close to his home. Alberto focuses on teaching students teamwork, design thinking, and other similar entrepreneurial values. Alberto also helps students explore other routes for students besides college, such as trade schools. In addition, Alberto is interested in macroeconomic activity. This has led him to trading derivatives of both fiat and crypto-currencies. The trader uses both personal intuition and risk management to develop effective strategies for said markets. Alberto is interested in macroeconomic activity and the effect it has on a global economy.

During free time, you could find Alberto participating in a variety of extreme sports. Some of his favorite pastimes include wakeboarding, wakesurfing, snowboarding, brazilian jui-jitsu, and cooking. Alberto frequently travels to mountains and lakes with friends on weekends.

Alberto is most passionate about contributing to his community and learning from others.
