<span style="font-size:medium;">My name is <u>Maria Fernanda Sagastume</u>, but my family and friends call me “Marifer”. &nbsp;I am from Panama (Central America) and I am a junior PhD student in Human-Centered Design at Florida Tech. I have a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and & STEM Educationand an MBA in Healthcare Management also from Florida Tech. I enjoy the tropical climate so I love going to the beach, biking am also an intern at a local Medical device company and rollerblading. I’m an active member of several organizations a Resident Director at Florida Institute of Technology like The Biomedical Engineering Society (President), Student Government Association (Secretary), Intervarsity Cristian Fellowship, Latin American Student Association, Society of Hispanic Engineers and Future Educators of AmericaTech .</span>
<span style="font-size:medium;">I'm also a resident assistant at my university and I love being part of a great team of students that help other students in their transition to college. I always try to help my residents and make them collect valuable experiences that will help them grow as a person and as a professional in their fields. My passion is helping others and using technology in medicine to provide better diagnostics and solutions to health problems. I'm also interested in STEM Education and want to teach in the fields of Science Engineering and TechnologyInnovation. My hobbies include rollerblading, biking, and dancing. I am a very extrovert and outdoor person. </span>
