I am currently a second year student at Michigan Technological University studying psychology and pre-medicine. I started college as a computer science major, but after studying abroad in Peru this past summer, I learned a lot about myself and who I want to be, so I decided to change my major in the hopes of becoming a psychiatrist in the future.

I'm fairly fluent in Spanish after about six years of studying it and travelling to both Spain and Peru. I love to play hockey and ski in my spare time, and I am going to be getting my certification as a member of the National Ski Patrol at the end of this fall semester. I have two dogs, Max and Elli, who I love very much, which means that it is very nice that I grew up around the Houghton/Michigan Tech area, as I'm never too far from home and get to visit them quite often.

I've always enjoyed helping people and making positive change in the world, which is why I decided to join University Innovation Fellows. I think that this is also one of the main reasons that I decided to change my major and begin working towards medical school. I am looking forward to graduating the UIF training along with my cohort and continuing to have a positive impact on my school and the people around me.
