Katherine, "Katie" Swartzendruber is an undergraduate student studying Art Education and Ceramics at the Herron School of Art & Design at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Her focuses include secondary education and wheel throwing.  Katie is also involved on her campus as a Resident Assistant at the Riverwalk Apartments.  She works in a Residential Based Learning Community (RBLC) with specifically all art students like herself. Katie is working on creating an Innovation and Entrepreneurship RBLC on campus with partners in housing.  She was introduced to the University Innovation Fellows program through a mentor from 2016 at her university.

She is hoping to expand upon the work her peers have done through UIF and reach a wider audience on her campus.  She is passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship, being an artist especially.  During her time at IUPUI she would love to work more closely with IUPUI's administration and expand upon design thinking ideation/coursework and innovation resources on campus. Katie is hoping to create a lasting impact on her campus for future students to come so they can maximize their time and utilize the campus's resources while they are studying at IUPUI to further their knowledge and turn their dreams into realities.
