Bio
Irem is a senior student in economics at Koç University and she is double majoring in computer engineering. Currently she is completing her Erasmus Semester in Mannheim, Germany. She is into education systems and behavioral economy and has worked in many non-profit organizations as a volunteering teacher and mentor. Since 2020 February, she works on a European Research Council project about the behavioral effects of coding on young students. She is also the representative of engineering faculty and works for the general wellbeing of Koç University students. During 2020-2021 academic year, she served to Koç University Society of Women Engineers as the coordinator of Networking Event and during 2021-2022 academic year she has served as a Co-President. She is a native Turkish speaker and knows English, German and French.
Achievements
She is a licensed chess player and has been playing for the last 8 years. She likes playing chess with her teammates in her spare time or in a tournement. She also loves to learn about other cultures through their food. Travelling, enjoying street food and visiting beautiful libraries are her hobbys.
