Bio

Alina Serik is a driven and ambitious Finance student at Lingnan University, hailing from the beautiful country of Kazakhstan. As a nonlocal student, she brings a unique perspective and cross-cultural understanding to her academic pursuits. She actively seeks out opportunities to enhance her knowledge and skills, while also contributing to the development of innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.

Passionate about promoting cultural awareness and fostering international support, Alina actively engages in initiatives that bridge the gap between different cultures and promote inclusivity on as well as outside of campus. She firmly believes that a diverse and globally connected community is essential for personal and professional growth.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Alina has a diverse range of hobbies and passions that enrich her life and reflect her multifaceted personality.

One of her notable hobbies is music. Having graduated from a musical school, she is well-versed in playing the violin. Her musical journey did not stop there, as she expanded her repertoire to include other instruments. She has delved into the basics of guitar, dombra (the national instrument of the Kazakhs), drums, and ukulele.

Another avenue that brings immense joy to her life is practising karate. This martial art not only keeps her physically fit but also instils discipline, focus, and self-confidence.

When she is not immersed in her busy schedule, Alina finds solace and rejuvenation in spending time in nature. Whether it is wandering in scenic landscapes, taking peaceful walks in the park, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, she finds tranquillity and inspiration in the natural world.

Achievements

Notably, Alina has received a full scholarship for non-local students, recognizing her exceptional academic abilities and potential in the field of finance.

In addition, she has been selected as a Non-local Student Ambassador on the Management Board on Internationalisation at Lingnan University. This esteemed position showcases their leadership skills and her dedication to promoting cultural exchange and inclusivity within the university community.

Furthermore, Alina has been chosen as a Representative of SHA of William MW Mong Hall The Bank of East Asia Hall on a Student Hostels Management Committee. This role demonstrates their ability to effectively represent and advocate for the interests of their fellow students, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met.

Through her achievements, Alina has proven themselves to be a woman of the people. All her efforts and achievements reflect her outstanding abilities and dedication to making a positive impact both academically and within the university community.
