Bio
Agustina, also known as Gusgus or Agu, was born on July 21st, 2004, in Santiago de Chile. Her family is composed of both of her parents (Iván and Carmen), 3 siblings (Isidora, Florencia & Antonia), and her little chihuahua named Lupe. She studied at Villa Maria Academy from pre-kindergarten up to her senior year. There she learned about friendship, leadership, religion, responsibility, and serving those in need.
Agu currently studies Service Management at Universidad de los Andes, Chile, and has a minor in Inclusion & Disability.
Gusgus is known for being an enthusiastic, sensitive, cheerful, responsible, and supportive woman. She cares a lot about her family and friends' happiness, and being a contribution to people's lives, not only for the ones she loves but for everybody in our society.
This young woman loves to laugh, make others happy, cook sweet things, do crafts, learn new hobbies, spend time with her friends and family, and spend her vacations volunteering for different social projects. When Agustina was 17 years old, she joined TECHO Chile, an organization that fights against poverty and social injustice in the country and seeks to protect the right to fair and decent housing for all citizens. Being part of this community has allowed her to learn about different realities and ways of living. She has learned not only about building houses but about the bonds with young people who want to change the realities of thousands of families.
One of her biggest dreams is to create her own company in which she can merge her love for design, creativity, and innovation, with the happiness and satisfaction of her community.
Finally, one of her main personal challenges in life is, when she gets old, to be remembered as a perfectly imperfect woman who was a living example of courage, love, service, and simplicity. A girl who was able to do what she was passionate about despite her fear of failure managing to believe more in herself than in her insecurities. That passionately felt life, the good and the bad, but always with her head held high. Committed to giving light and life to those who only saw darkness and who realized that being different is what makes us be remembered in life.
