I have a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering & STEM Education and an MBA in Healthcare Management also from Florida Tech. I am also an intern at a local Medical device company and a Resident Director at Florida Tech . </span>

Maria Sagastume earned her Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering and STEM Education and an MBA in Healthcare Management at Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida. She is now a PhD student in Human-Centered Design and teaches first-year experience during the fall semester to first-year engineering students. She was selected to represent Florida Tech at the KEEN conference as an FYE instructor and is part of the group of faculty working on the KEEN project for makerspaces and incorporating entrepreneurial mindset to first year engineering students.

Maria was trained as a University Innovation Fellow in Spring 2017, and attended the Silicon Valley meetup in November 2017. She continued her support on the Innovation Council and Florida Tech and promoted the ideas from the conference within the department of Residence Life and when teaching First Year Experience classes.
