This club will allow students to collaborate with one another in order to tackle issues within the local communities. Our hope is that students will learn valuable skills such as networking, prototyping, and business pitching throughout the duration of this club's existence. We feel it has the potential to reach students throughout Grand Valley, and change their ideas on what entrepreneurship and innovation really means. == Strategy Two: Design Start [3-4 months] == Design Start will be a new workshop as of January 2019. It is an intensive, structured, innovation workshop where students work together to uncover possible solutions to various problems. These students will achieve this by following the Design Thinking Process to empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and validate their solutions with others. Many times, students relate entrepreneurship and innovation to business majors. While this can be the case, Design Start will be an opportunity to open these topics up to everyone. Design Start will be held on January 11th and 12th, which is the start of a new semester. This will allow students to more easily attend before classes become more demanding. Another aspect of Design Start is the collaboration between universities. This program will be open to students from many different college and universities in the Grand Rapids area. This will allow for a melting-pot of students to come and work together.
Once this program has passed and proven to be successful, we will look into planning the event for the following year.
