Cameron Philo is a University Innovation Fellow at Michigan Technological University. Graduating high school from Lowell, MI, Cameron had a strong involvement in FIRST Robotics that helped steer him into studying engineering. Having a strong interest for the blend between hardware and software, Cameron is now studying Electrical Engineering. He is now in his third year, and has a passion for digital controls systems.

Cameron joined the Pavlis Honors college, and began under the Global Leadership pathway in his seconds year. There he learned invaluable skills in developing himself as a leader, both personally and professionally. However, while working on various personal entrepreneurial projects, and interning at an internal start-up company for a summer, Cameron has discovered and developed a strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation. He transitioned into the New Venture pathway under the Pavlis Honors College, and is looking to minor in entrepreneurship.

Cameron has a lot of different interests, but mostly enjoys trying new things. Whether it’s advancements in renewable energy to life-saving medical devices, he focuses on finding new and unique ways to solve problems for society. With a passion for social entrepreneurship, he focuses on creating solutions that better people’s lives, rather than generating large amounts of profit. One day Cameron hopes to run his own non-profit organization providing electrical energy to families in underdeveloped nations, and using those resources to provide better healthcare and education to those countries.
