<br />[[File:Alexandra "Alessa" Haller headshot .png|alt=|thumb|407x407px|link=File:Alexandra_%22Alessa%22_Haller_headshot_.png]]Alexandra “Alessa” Haller is a University Innovation Fellow and an undergraduate student a Member of the 2017 Cohort at Susquehanna University (SU) in Selinsgrove,Pennsylvania,&nbsp;[[File:AlexandraHallerPP.png|frame]]studying International Studies (Combining her passion for innovation and problem-solving with an emphasis in Diplomacy)adaptability and connection-building skills, Economics (with an emphasis Alessa hopes to increase sustainable economic development in Global Economy low and Financial Markets)middle-income countries, ultimately fostering diplomatic relationships between governments, NGOs and Germancivil society groups.
Alessa is a dual-degree Master of Science Public Policy and Human Development (Foreign Policy and Development) candidate at the United Nations University-MERIT and Maastricht University School of Governance in the Netherlands. Her studies focus on analyzing critical issues and designing policy recommendations for developing countries using evidence-based policymaking tools geared towards sustainable economic development.
She greatly enjoys working within a three-member team producing weekly newsletters on international development issues for the Office of Development Finance at the Department of State. Her first development experience was as a University Innovation Fellow with Stanford University analyzing landscapes, identifying critical issues, designing solutions, and implementing sustainable programs on campus.
At SU, Alexandra Alessa is extremely interested in a known work-aholic. Three majors weren’t enough to keep her busy. She has four on-campus jobs and three leadership positions. She works career in the Admissions Office as a Recruiting Counselor’s Assistantinternational development. She is a Community Assistant (a Resident Assistant for Independent-living)speaks fluent German, a German tutor for the Modern Languages Departmentconversational Spanish, and Dutch at a Student Driver for the Health Centerbeginner level. She is holds a sister Bachelor of Kappa Delta Sorority Arts in International Studies (Diplomacy) and serves German, as the Ritual Chair for the chapter and well as the Vice President a Bachelor of Finance on the Panhellenic Executive Council. She is also the Vice President of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honors society for juniors Arts in Economics (Global Economy and seniors. As can be seen, Alexandra likes to keep busy. She’s a coffee enthusiast and fitness fanaticFinancial Markets) from Susquehanna University.

Alexandra also has a knack for cultures. English isn’t her first language. Born in Köln, Germany, she emigrated to the United States when she was young and has lived in the Washington, D.C. area ever since. She has studied French and Spanish, and will be studying for a semester in Seville, Spain soon. In the past summer, Alexandra spent three months in Italy as an Au Pair to teach English and learn about the Italian culture. She loves food, good discussion, and learning about culture-shocks. Alexandra aspires to travel for work and possibly take the Foreign Service Exam to become a Diplomat in the near future.
Nevertheless, at any given time, you can find Alexandra laughing and conversing with faculty and friends. Excellent communication is what she values the most. She hopes to better strengthen the communication between students and the administration on campus to improve the atmosphere at her university.
