<span style="font-size:largermedium;"><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">Witnessing how technology empowers people that have been traditionally marginalized, especially in developing countries such as his native Mexico, made Alfonso believe that research, innovation, and entrepreneurship are the most effective venues for economic development, social change, and a sustainable future.</span><br/><br/><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">Every innovation ecosystem relies on both the entrepreneurs' creative approach to solve challenges and the people's willingness to embrace new technologies. This is why Alfonso has been involved with entities that lead initiatives to develop local, regional, national and global I&E networks that includes an accelerator, an angel investor group, a technology transfer office, entrepreneurship student organizations, and economic development organizations.</span><br/><br/><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">Alfonso is particularly interested on learning about emerging economies that are are laying the foundations to compete in the global market powered by improved educational access, public policy reforms, and technology adoption and development.</span></span>
<span style="font-size: larger;">Every innovation ecosystem relies on both the entrepreneurs' creative approach to solving challenges and the people's willingness to embrace new technologies. This is why Alfonso decided to join TTIME, the entrepreneurial student organization at Tech, as their VP of Development to foster a culture of entrepreneurship. He works closely with the university administrators and faculty, local economic development organizations and the local angel network to make opportunities available for students to engage in these activities.</span>
<span style="font-size: larger;">Alfonso currently works at Kinetic, Texas Tech´s technology transfer accelerator, as a Venture Fellow. His responsabilities include supporting teams in the tech transfer and mainstream entrepreneur track and helping the Director in the program´s management.&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: larger;">He has previously worked as a Supplemental Instruction Leader for the differential equations course and as a Student Consultant at the TTU Small Business Development Center helping entrepreneurs launch their business projects. His future career goals include interning at the Inter-American Development Bank evaluating development projects to be implemented in Latin American nations and working as an analyst at an impact investing venture capital fund.&nbsp;</span>
