Just like many other fellows, I wondered what I would get out of joining UIF. I had a friend who had previously gone through the UIF training and would always tell me how awesome UIF was and to consider applying to be a candidate. During that time, I had a full schedule trying to survive my school work and leading the IEEE student branch. My passion is to create opportunities for students to practice their technical engineering skills and networking events where employers can personally meet students. At I never considered myself a social butterfly, but by getting involved in leadership positions in different organizations like SWE and Tau Beta Pi I learned that I loved to network. By having the end of Spring 2015 semester Briana was elected the Chair of honor to lead the IEEE student branch and has worked hard this year planning events like the Region 3 IEEE Leadership Workshop, networking with members of the IEEE Melbourne Section and leading the technical team committee for the 2016 SECON hardware competitionEngineers Week I was able to personally see how amazing it is to work on a big interdisciplinary team. For The creation of the Fall 2015 semester she planned Innovation Council holds a total of ten general meetings special place in my heart because I was able to finally bring this club to life thanks to UIF and has planned another ten general meeting for the Spring 2016 semestermy amazing leadership circle. Briana has been a part The purpose of the Society of Women Engineers executive board as the webmaster for the past two yearsInnovation Council is to allow representatives from multiple organizations on campus to come together and personally get to know each other and have a safe place to share ideas and work on bigger projects together. On April 19, 2015One common goal, she was initiated into the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society at Florida Tech and has volunteered as member of the programming committee that all passionate leaders have it to help prepare events like chapter meetings and the Engineers Week opening ceremonyothers. In addition, she volunteers So instead of working alone to be accomplish the leader of same goal with the planning committee Innovation Council we can work together for the 2016 Engineers Week hosted at Florida Tech from February 22, 2016 to February 27, 2016a better TODAY. I’m thankful for becoming a UIF fellow, since I was introduced to a network of change agents and friends that share the same passion to make a difference in higher education.
