Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico he [[File:CJGershon1.png|thumb|CJGershon1.png]]developed a strong love of the outdoors through hiking, camping, hunting, and skiing. This love of exploration has been apparent throughout his life getting routinely lost on camping trips by always looking around the next corner to find something new. This explorative nature has transitioned into his studies as he always looks for something new to learn or a new experience to have.</span></span>
