<span style="text-align: justify;">[[File:SuthakarHarineeProfile.jpg]]Harinee Suthakar (UIF Spring 2015 Cohort) is a junior studying third-year Rehabilitation Science student at the University of Pittsburgh. Her passion for public health and sustainable international development led her to pursue a certificate in global studies focused on global health. Harinee pursues her interests is involved in student and community developmentorganizations such as Pitt Global Brigades, sustainabilityUniversity Honors College, public policy and different culturesthrough involvement in PittGlobal BrigadesSouth Asian Student Association, Pitt Environmental Action CoalitionPhi Delta Epsilon, and the PA Pennsylvania Center for Women & Politicsto further her interests in sustainable development, public policy, and South Asian Student Associationdifferent cultures. She serves her communityby community by volunteering for Gwen's Girls, an afterschool program for at-risk youth girls in Pittsburgh and by working with a local non-profit proofit organization focused on health and education and health for adolescent adolsecent girls, volunteering in Nepal. She is a Hospital Elderly Life Program (HELP) volunteer at a local hospital, UPMC Shadyside and participating participates in various university service sservice events. After undergraduate studies, Harinee hopes to attend medical school and pursue a master's in public health and attend medical school upon graduation. She wants to learn more Through her involvement in the UIF program, she has learned ways to incorporate innovation and entrepreneurship into her academic endeavorsenedavors, career goals, and get more of expand innovation and entrepreneurship to all her peers involved at the universityUniversity of Pittsburgh.</span><p style="text-align: justify;">Harinee enjoys working with others and on interdisciplinary teams. She recognizes and understands that pre-health professions' undergraduate major curriculums can be rigid and wants to bridge the disconnect between her peers in the School of Health and & Rehabilitation Sciences and the other schools of Engineering, Business, and Arts and Sciences. Harinee pursues her interest interests in innovation and entrepreneurship by engaging in student-led workshops and entering competitions such as Pitt's first Sustainability Solutions competitionscompetition. Her involvement in student organizations orgnizations and events allows her to be part of a larger team and share ideas with students from all over Pitt's campus.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"> Harinee is excited humbled and proud to be part of and learn from a group of students who share an interest in innovation and entrepreneurship and want strive to improve their college campus.</p>
