Nicholas OOI (Nick/Nicholas) is currently the Innovation Lead [https://cisl.hkbu.edu.hk/cisl/staff.html (Link)] @ TriAngle at the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning [https://cisl.hkbu.edu.hk/triangle/about-triangle.html (Website)], who promotesicle the concept of Social Innovation and cultivates innovation culture and spirit at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). TriAngle is a Social Innovation co-working space for social innovators and entrepreneurs for social good at HKBU to gather, network and make an impact through creativity, interactivity and collaborations.
He was a Programme Manager of the Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative [https://www.ln.edu.hk/lei (LEI)] at Lingnan University (LU) in 2021. Since 2017, LEI has reached more than 20,000 beneficiaries and has organized more than 250 events related to innovation and entrepreneurship. Together with his team from TriAngle and LEI, they have incubated more than 80 start-up and social enterprise teams (including HKBU Social Innovation Incubates: [https://www.hkbu.edu.hk/en/whats-new/campus-digest/2023/marketing-student-recognised-for-running-social-enterprise.html ReCube (Climate Action Recognition Scheme Acceleration Awardee 2023)], Star Fragments, Farmers' Bridge, SportCanHeal852, and STOTE; and [https://lei369.wixsite.com/my-site LU Start-up teams: FlashGreen (Champion of HKSEC 2023), SENmily, Rehome and more)], to contribute to the I&E eco-system for social good in Hong Kong.
Nick had the honor to be a speaker in the Joint Conference 2023: 2nd National Conference on SULAM ([http://utlc.uum.edu.my/images/2023/final_program_book_jc_sulam_2023_compressed.pdf Conference Booklet)] and the 8th Inspirational Scholar Symposium in Malaysia, following an invitation from Service-Learning Malaysia (SULAM), an initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia. At the conference, he presented his expertise in Design Thinking and Social Innovation. He also provided guidance to Malaysian university educators on integrating these methodologies into their 14-week curriculum development.
In order to guide future imagination and create a campus atmosphere of entrepreneurial spirit, the Taiwan Ministry of Education focuses on the cultivation of cross-disciplinary talents in design thinking. Nick representing HKBU established a collaborative venture with the Fu Jen Creative Design Center at Fu Jen Catholic University (Post-event Report), Taipei Medical University, and the Ministry of Education in Taiwan for this project. This partnership was to adapt and refine the Design Thinking approach to better align with the unique needs and context of education in the Asia Pacific region, and partnering with with Fu Jen Catholic University, they published a booklet on this project 苗圃計畫 ([https://proj.moe.edu.tw/design-thinking/Default.aspx Design Thinking in Taiwan]) by using the context Nick has developed.

Health is more than the absence of disease or infirmity. According to the WHO, health includes physical, psychological and social aspects. Nick is also With the increase of older generation in Hong Kong, With the founder increase of the older generation in Hong Kong, the government is implementing new policies to improve healthcare and retirement services. To encourage collaboration between different generation from various age group, Nick founded the project, Think-Act-Contribute (TAC). The TAC team, led by Nicholas, has created a simple and funky dance move in order to help spread health awareness and health messages to the local community. His team not only dances, but they also help to encourage youth and elderly to get involved in the TAC project, which, in turn, helps to create an environment fostering intergenerational partnership.
