Nick is experienced in conducting Design Thinking workshops for studentsrelated teaching and learning, and he has conducted more than 80 workshops globally with accumulations of more than 800 training hours. After joining the Teaching and Learning Studio at Stanford d.School and Participatory Design Training from MIT D-Lab, he begins to design different artifacts to improve students learning from different design methods. In 2020, Nick was invited to be one of the Faculty Innovation Fellows by the University Innovation Fellows Programme at Stanford d.School.
Nick had the honor to be a speaker in the Joint Conference 2023: 2nd National Conference on SULAM and the 8th Inspirational Scholar Symposium in Malaysia, following an invitation from Service-Learning Malaysia (SULAM), an initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia. At the conference, he presented his expertise in Design Thinking and Social Innovation. He also provided guidance to Malaysian university educators on integrating these methodologies into their 14-week curriculum development.
In order to guide future imagination and create a campus atmosphere of entrepreneurial spirit, the Taiwan Ministry of Education focuses on the cultivation of cross-disciplinary talents in design thinking. Nick representing HKBU established a collaborative venture with the Fu Jen Creative Design Center at Fu Jen Catholic University, Taipei Medical University, and the Ministry of Education in Taiwan for this project. This partnership was to adapt and refine the Design Thinking approach to better align with the unique needs and context of education in the Asia Pacific region, and partnering with with Fu Jen Catholic University, they published a booklet on this project 苗圃計畫 ([https://proj.moe.edu.tw/design-thinking/Default.aspx Design Thinking in Taiwan]) by using the context Nick has developed.

In 2021, Nick received the Dr and Mrs James Tak Wu Awards for Outstanding Service Award at Lingnan University. The awards recognise and reward staff members and students who have consistently demonstrated outstanding service to the University or community.
