==Bio==
Thalía, a Bioengineering Junior at Graduate from UTEC(2023), was born and raised in a town in Piura, Peru. At the age of 13, she was selected as one of the top students is currently pursuing her MSc studies in her region to study 3 years Biomedical Engineering at COAR Piura, a highly selective boarding school L'École Polytechnique in her countryFrance. During her the last year at schoolfour years, she was awarded a scholarship has used biologically-inspired engineering to study at UTEC, in Lima. All the opportunities she was granted so far have led her to share her knowledge with those less fortunate. For that reasoncreate synthetic organ models across Peru, she works to empower women and girls from her birthplace, democratize life sciencesFrance, and contribute to the biomedical research in her countryCanada.
Moreover, All the opportunities she is a volunteer for social programs that follow was granted so far to become an engineer working and studying in prestigious institutions have led her to share her knowledge to shape the same objective as her, and recently she has founded Colaneñascareer of future female scientists. On the other handFor that reason, she has been the vicepresident of BioUTECworks to empower women and girls from her birthplace, a biohacker space whose purpose is to democratize biotechnology inside life sciences, and outside UTEC. Currently, she is mentoring this community-biocontribute to the biomedical research in her country.
Moreover, she has been a volunteer for social programs that follow the same objective as her, and runs her own non-profit organization. Thalía considers herself as a caring, creative, and responsible person. Besides engineering, she enjoys painting with watercolors, riding her bike, and eating soups. In the long term, she would like to improve her Yoga skills to manage her stress during difficult times like the ones we are currently experiencing. She also loves doing yoga and knitting!
