My name is Britnee McCauley. Although I currently reside in Maryland, I was born in Plainfield, Illinois. While in Illinois, I earned my associate's degree in Business Administration at Joliet Junior College. Right before the pandemic struck, I moved to Maryland and started attending Bowie State University. In May 2022, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. When Fall 2022 came around, I decided to continue my education by pursing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. The reason I chose a major in business is because I developed a passion for it at an early age, since I was surrounded by my family's owned alarm service company growing up. I also have a passion for education. I believe that the more knowledge we gain, the more we learn about the world and how to better ourselves. I know if I would have stayed in Illinois I would have been limited to the resources of my environment. I have since found a greater appreciation for travel as it has led me to a HBCU where I am able to dive deeper into my culture. My A goal of mine is to help make a difference in secondary education by teaching business skills to the younger generations, so that they learn valuable lessons that will help them when they become independent. Not to mention, I am so happy that by attending BSU I had the opportunity to join the University Innovation Fellows Program in 2021. I had the pleasure of returning as a FAB in 2022 and am thrilled to be continuing as a UIguide for 2023. As a fellow, my team and I worked on getting our campus to improve the way notifications for events are sent out on the school website and to create or relaunch the BSU app. We also proposed 2 other projects, which was a student commuter lounge and a childcare center on campus. All 3 of our projects had made progress. Currently, I am working with the Dean of BSU’s College of Business and the MBA coordinator to develop a 18-month MBA program.
