[[File:Copy of DSC04694McGee Headshot.jpg|alt=|thumb|329x329px|Claire McGee]]Claire McGee is became a University Innovation Fellow in 2019 and an undergraduate at graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University double majoring in 2021 with a BS in Public Health and Spanish with a minor BA in Environmental HealthSpanish. She Currently, Claire is interested in maternal an Analyst at Valtruis, supporting Platform & Operations. Previously, Claire worked as an Innovation Consulting Associate at Healthbox and a Business Strategy Specialist at HIMSS. Prior to this, she held internship positions at Ohio Innovation Fund, a midwest venture capital fund, and reproductive Ariadne Labs, a joint center for health, systems innovation at Brigham and Women's Hospital and how these things can overlap with the world Harvard T.H. Chan School of innovation, Public Health. She is passionate about the potential for design thinking and entrepreneurshiptechnology drive improvements in health care delivery.
During her time as a Fellow at Ohio University, Claire is from Athens, Ohio undertook several work streams to improve the innovation and spends her breaks traveling and working around the worldentrepreneurship community on campus. She just recently returned from led numerous Design-Thinking workshops and was a summer internship working for a Danish maternal health non-profit finalist in Bogotá, Colombiathe 2019 Design Challenge. Claire is also a Cutler Scholar at Ohio UniversityAdditionally, she and is the Publisher of the largest studenther co-run print magazine publicationFellow, Dillon Mahr, Backdrop Magazineled an effort to redesign first-year orientation programming to include Design Thinking methodology. In her free timeAlthough she never got to attend the Silicon Valley Meetup, she works at attended the local running store and likes to be outside. She also enjoys playing guitar2020 Alps Meetup in Salzburg, singingAustria, and cooking meals for her family and friendsjust before COVID hit.
Claire believes that every student at Ohio University has the ability to think creatively and create real change on campus and in the world beyond graduation. She thinks that it is paramount to equip all students, regardless of major or discipline, with the tools to innovate and test their ideas. She thinks that one of the most important things missing from OU's campus is the exposure to innovation and entrepreneurship. Through the UIF program, Claire hopes to earn earned the connections and skills to bring together her undergraduate classmates and create a campus climate that supports innovation and creativity as a means to improve Ohio University. She hopes to help others do the same as a uiguide! Claire is from Athens, Ohio, and is currently based in Chicago. She spends her time away from work hanging out with her dog, Otto, and her cat, Goose.
