Selin is also a fellow in Fire-Up Changemakers Program, which aims to build a student community that will create change on campus, focusing on developing students’ entrepreneurship and social innovation skills, and introduced her to the University Innovation Fellows Program. Since March 2020, Selin has been working as an undergraduate research assistant in one of the European Commission's Knowledge Alliance projects called Boundary Spanners, which focusses on the role of boundary spanners in removing barriers of university-industry cooperation.
As a University Innovation Fellow, Selin co-created ITU Learning Community, an online learning community at the campus to strengthen the innovative and entrepreneurial skillsets of the ITU students. This community of practice enabled participants to experiment with various tools used in innovation, engaging with an online learning environment that encourages individuals to learn more, and socializing with fellow students in the online semester. In addition to the team project, she also lead led LetsInnomind Program, which is an interface program in ITU for student-industry collaboration aims to enhance the connection between student project teams and industry and encouraging them to co-create.
The courses and campus activities fueled her enthusiasm for project development and creating an impact for a sustainable future. Her research interests are university-industry collaboration, ecosystem building, product development, and organizational behavior. She also rejoices in reading about archeology and history, listening to various genres, and trying different cuisines.
