Nicks''' is currently a graduate student at Tufts University, pursuing a Ph.D. in Biotechnology Engineering. His research is at the intersection of Cell-Free Metabolic Engineering, Directed Evolution, and Protein Engineering. He graduated from William Jewell College in May 2017 with Honors in Biochemistry, Applied Critical Thought & Inquiry, and a minor in Business Administration. <span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:medium;"> As an undergrad, Trevor co-founded a biotech startup (drinkspira.com), published a paper on </span></span><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:medium;">nanoarchaeal</span></span><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:medium;"> evolution (<span style="color: rgb(2, 2, 2);">doi: 10.3389/fmicb.2017.00384), and studied alternative biofuel sources. </span><span style="color: rgb(2, 2, 2);">His primary UIF initiatives included co-directing #OneDayKC, bringing Harvard's CS50 to Jewell, and serving as a student-advisor on Jewell's data science committee.
