better higher education than her country had to offer, and the only barrier to her dream was financial. In 2014, she received a full tuition scholarship at Berea College, Kentucky, which made her dream come true. Currently, she ispursuing a double major in Economics and Business Administration (Finance).

Coming from Bangladesh, Minashsha grew up in the heard of pioneering social entrepreneurship initiatives by Dr. Mohammad Yunus and Fazle Hasan Abed, but it was only until last summer when she was fully exposed to social entrepreneurship and its impact on developing communities. During her summer internship as Community Development Intern in Entrepreneurship for the Public Good (EPG) Summer Institute in Berea College, she gained extensive knowledge on entrepreneurship, innovation and economic development through coursework and hands on experience in Appalachia. Currently, she works as the Events Planning Associate of EPG department which connects undergraduate students with I&E events and programs in and out of Kentucky. Additionally, she is the President of the intercultural club at Berea College, and founder of Humans of Berea College (inspired by Humans of New York) because she believes in the power of people and their stories. Minashsha is a passionate, hardworking, goal-oriented and slightly humorous person. Last but not the least, she is one of the biggest food and travel lover you will ever know.

As a candidate for the University Innovation Fellow Program, she is working with her Leadership Circle and Berea Innovation Studio – the I&E community on campus – to increase I&E engagement and expand the I&E network on her campus. The projects include Solve-A-Problem Saturdays (ideation workshop), Date With Design Thinking (design thinking workshop) and Idea Bounce (idea pitch competition).

If you ever want to buy her food or air tickets, or reach her for any other reason, please feel free to contact her at lamisam@berea.edu.
