Bio

Zahin Mahbuba is a senior international student at Hollins University pursing a B.A. in International Studies with a minor in Economics. Her primary academic focus is on entrepreneurship and refugee populations across the United States. Her parents are from Bangladesh, she grew up in Vietnam and currently calls Malaysia her home. Zahin was introduced to the University Innovation Program through Alyssa Martina, the director of Elon's Doherty Center, after helping organize the 2021 Elon Innovation Challenge where the Hollins Entrepreneurial Learning Institute was one of the sponsors. She was able to join the UIF program through a grant she received from the Entrepreneurial Learning Institute at Hollins.

Achievements

Zahin has been interested in entrepreneurship from a very young age and spent her high school years working on a lot of pitch competitions in Malaysia while establishing an accelerator program from her high school to further progress the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

At Hollins, Zahin has worked with the institution in the establishment of the Entrepreneurial Learning Institute in 2019, the creation of the Entrepreneurship Club and in engaging in multiple innovative opportunities with alumni startups.
