Bio
My name is Tayler Fearn and I am studying bioinformatics at Utah Valley University(UVU). Originally, I am from Vancouver, Canada. As someone who comes from a low-income family and struggled in high school, I felt overwhelmed at the idea of attending university. However, with support from family and friends I choose to attend university and believe I could do better than before. While at university I have been supported by faculty who saw my potential, staff who have mentored me and friends pursuing similar goals. Now I have learned to direct my passions and desires into my current field of study. In addition to the science aspect, I advocate for the ethically and beneficial use of technology. I try to shift the focus from innovation and novelty to sustainability and communities. I plan to further pursue these goals as an innovation fellow and beyond!
