Bio

Marco Montelatici is an enthusiastic, authentic, and inspiring young man.

He was born on March 12, 2004 (21 years old) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is the son of Federico and Carolina, and the eldest brother of two, whom he loves and deeply values.

Throughout his life, he studied at schools such as San Juan and San Esteban, both Catholic institutions that shaped his personality and worldview. At the age of 16, he moved to Maldonado, Uruguay, where he completed high school at the Instituto hermanas Capuchinas.

Initially, Marco planned to pursue engineering, as he has a natural talent for numbers. However, after a life-changing retreat, he decided to devote himself to philosophy, a subject he studied passionately for two years before switching to psychology, drawn by his deep interest in the study of the human person.

He is currently in his second year of Psychology at UCU (Universidad Católica del Uruguay), where he holds an 80% scholarship that helps him finance his studies.

The experience of moving to another country was transformative for him: on the one hand, it was a new beginning full of adventures; on the other, it meant leaving many friends behind. Despite these challenges, Marco successfully found his path, met many people who became very meaningful to him, and followed the advice of his confirmation godfather, who encouraged him to begin missionary work, a transformative and ongoing experience in his life that opened his eyes to reality and helped guide his vocation.

Marco also does theater, serves as a catechist for two groups, volunteers, and participates in missions every weekend. In terms of sports, he enjoys running, swimming (he dreams of one day becoming a lifeguard), playing soccer, skiing, and tennis.

He loves spending time with friends, engaging in meaningful conversations, being with his family, enjoying nature, and experiencing the peace of Punta del Este in winter.
