Mahshidis a University Innovation Fellow and is currently a PhD student in Architecture- Environmental Design Research program at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Her background includes studying Urban Planning for her bachelor's and Urban Design for her master's program. She is interested in human- built environment relations and how these two can affect each other. In fact, understanding the qualities and factors of responsive spaces and observing people's behaviors in these spaces is one of her areas of interest. Apart from that, considering the contemporary challenges of our time, she is currently studying how environmental design can be sustainable, while supporting user needs and behaviors. More specifically she is focusing on university campuses to find out how universities can incorporate sustainability in their operations.
