Bio
Kokoro graduated from Sophia University in March 2022, where she studied law. She is currently working on a project by utilizing Design Thinking at HPI School of Design Thinking in Potsdam, Germany. She is enthusiastic about creating an environment where anyone can explore and pursue their passion and enjoys addressing complex issues and learning various ways to do so. Besides studying law as a logical way of problem-solving, she also has a keen interest in utilizing design thinking and maximizing the benefits of multidisciplinary.
As she conducted comparative research on the data protection regulations between Japan and the EU, she realized the importance of proper data protection and usage to foster innovation by gaining people's trust, especially in this heavily digitalized society. She is now looking for a path to pursue her study or professional career in innovation and data protection in the relationship with legal services.
From her own experiences, she understands how meaningful it is to have people who believe in her and support her through her learning journey. In order to tell this importance and the message that there are people, including herself, who believe in them to students in Japan, she is actively working in RISE, an organization empowering the youth to become changemakers through design thinking workshops. During the summer of 2021, in RISE, they have reached over 220 students through 17 workshops.
In her free time, she loves exploring nature, meaning riding a bicycle or walking along a river, going up a small hill, paddling in the sea, and climbing a mountain.
