Bio
Hello, my name is Jamie Parker. I am a senior majoring in Graphic Design at Elizabeth City State University. I am originally from Brownstown, Michigan. I have been able to maintain a 3.7 GPA, while being involved in various organizations. During my first two years of college, I was grateful to be a part of the Royal Blaze dance team in the Sound of Class Marching Band. During my junior year, I joined 1704 Media Productions, a student-led media-based organization. Within 1704 Media Productions, I work as a graphic designer, where I have sharpened my skills and advanced in topics such as layout design, social media graphics, videography, branding, and photography. I now serve on the executive board as creative director on the Legacy. The Legacy is our art and literary based magazine. Outside of the Legacy, I help create graphics and brainstorm events on campus. During the summer, I had the pleasure of interning through the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources HBCU/MIHE Internship Program as a graphic design intern for the State Library of North Carolina. My tasks included creating a Grantee Communications Toolkit for acknowledgements for grantees as well as social media headers and some layout designs. I also am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. I have served as the chair of Physical and Mental Health Committee for the 2022-2023 academic year and now served as the Vice President for the 2023-2024 academic year. After I graduate this spring, I plan to attend graduate school to obtain my Master of Science in Marketing.
