Bio
George Katz is a dedicated student at the University of Georgia, where he has immersed himself in a variety of leadership roles and collaborative initiatives. As a Marketing major at the Terry College of Business, George has gained a deep understanding of business principles while actively engaging in projects that challenge his creativity and problem-solving skills. His academic journey is marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for making a meaningful impact in the business world.
One of George's standout experiences at UGA is his role as an Innovation Fellow under the UGA Student Industry Fellows program. In this capacity, he has worked closely with industry partners, applying human-centered design principles to solve modern business challenges. Collaborating in diverse teams, George has developed innovative solutions that address real-world problems, enhancing his ability to think critically and work effectively in dynamic environments. Through this program, George has had the opportunity to work with Cox Enterprises, Farmer's Home Furniture, and Southwire.
George's involvement in the Terry College of Business Ambassadors program further showcases his passion for UGA and his commitment to sharing its values with others. As an Ambassador, he has the opportunity to lead campus tours for prospective students, families, and alumni, representing the Terry College of Business with pride. His ability to connect with a wide range of audiences and his deep knowledge of the business school have made him a key figure in promoting the college's mission and values. In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, George has been an integral member of the UGA Men's Club Soccer Team for three years. As President of the team, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding the team to success at the highest level of competitive soccer at the university. George has been playing soccer as a child, and finds fulfillment from still being able to play in front of his mom and dad.
Professionally, George has cultivated a robust professional career marked by impactful internships at two prominent companies. In the summer of 2024, he served as a Sales and Operations Intern at Lexus in Atlanta, GA. There, he excelled in optimizing business reports and trackers for 68 dealerships, utilizing his expertise in Microsoft programs to enhance operational efficiency. His role also involved strategic consultations with dealerships across the southeast, where he provided valuable insights for long-term planning. Additionally, George showcased his presentation skills by delivering a 30-minute walkthrough of the Lexus RZ vehicle to an office of over 50 employees, demonstrating his ability to communicate complex information effectively. Prior to this, in the summer of 2023, George interned with the Chick-fil-A Leadership Development Program, also in Atlanta, GA. During this experience, he successfully launched a comprehensive project aimed at solving a critical organizational issue, further proving his problem-solving capabilities. He gained in-depth knowledge of marketing strategies by shadowing executives and coordinators, observing firsthand how the franchise promotes its brand.
Outside of his academic and extracurricular commitments, George is a person of varied interests and strong family ties. He has a passion for exercising and weightlifting, which helps him maintain balance and harmony through his busy pursuits. He also enjoys challenging his mind with The New York Times Games and cherishes spending quality time with his family, especially his three older sisters. George's close bond with his family is a central part of who he is, and it reflects his values of loyalty, dedication, and love.
