Bio
I am Fatema AL Shehhi a citizen of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). I am a student at Khalifa university of science and technology (KU). I am majoring in petroleum engineering. I have gained a great deal of experience in KU which is applicable to my career and to my daily life. I understand that becoming a petroleum engineer is a challenging task in the sense that it requires a high level of intelligence, skills, experience, and education. In order to gain experience and skills, I increased my presence and involvement in community projects. Recently, I have been volunteering at the Abu Dhabi Science Festival, where my key responsibilities included:
1- being a team captain at the workshop, 2- encouraging the children to make similar shapes using different methods, 3- motivating their thinking abilities as well as creativity. Also, I have volunteered in other events, including the ADNOC Alumni event, University Orientation Day, and Wanna Read event. I developed an interest in becoming an engineer since I was a child. However, I did not consider the field I will be majoring in until I met some interesting people who advised me and gave me ideas which I used as guidance to choose my ideal major or field of interest. During my learning experience, I faced challenges where many are not related to my learning, but they have affected me in ways. I learned to be strong and never give up; which are the key ingredients to success.
