Fellow:Courtney Savage
Courtney Savage is a University Innovation Fellow and a returning undergraduate nursing student at Tennessee Technological University. She
graduated magna cum laude and in cursu honorum from Tennessee Technological University in December 2017 with a bachelor's degree in biology and returned for a second degree in August 2018. Courtney is from a small town known as Livingston, TN, which is around thirty minutes from TTU. She enjoys reading and playing with her two much younger siblings (ages 2 and 5). After graduation Courtney plans to return to school once again to attend a graduate nursing program. Courtney's goal is to become a nurse practitioner specializing in women's health or pediatrics. From a young age, Courtney was interested in taking care of the health and overall well-being of others. She nurtured this interest by volunteering and then working part-time at a local family physician's office where she was able to interact with the patients and health care personnel. Courtney's project focuses on introducing innovation and entrepreneurship while also improving the lives of others. She intends to re-establish iCARE, a social entrepreneurship student organization, at Tennessee Technological University. iCARE will work to introduce I&E and promote resources available to students across campus through hands-on experience.
