Bio

Colleen Hull is an undergraduate student studying Managing for Sustainability and Spanish at Bucknell University and current candidate to become a University Innovation Fellow. She is motivated to instigate positive change through a variety of means and experiences. Driven by helping others, Colleen strives to better life on and off of campus.

Colleen began her career at Bucknell as a member of the Social Justice Residential College Program. This intensified her desire to work with other like minded individuals while pursuing a passion that demands open-mindedness and creativity. Throughout her first two years at Bucknell, Colleen acted as a mentor for her peers in Economic Principles as she served as a tutor and study group facilitator at the Learning Center on campus. With this, Colleen helped teach Principles of Economics to fellow students in both individual and group settings where she worked to foster confidence in the mastering of economic knowledge.

In addition to this, Colleen was selected to take part in a service trip to Baitoa, Dominican Republic in March of 2020. Beginning her sophomore year, she spent countless hours fundraising to install water tanks in the town of Baitoa with fellow students. Despite the trip being cancelled due to COVID-19, Colleen played a influential role in raising funds necessary for the installation of the tanks.

With a keen interested for helping others in the surrounding communities, Colleen interned at the Union-Snyder County Community Action Agency where she aided in the housing department. There, she would help clients in local towns find affordable housing through hosting tenant education sessions and partaking in frequent home visits.

Presently at Bucknell, Colleen continues to work as an economics tutor and study group facilitator. In August 2020, Colleen was selected to be a First Year Orientation Assistant. This position allowed for Colleen to fully embrace and make use of her leadership skills while also easing her First-Year students into college life during a global pandemic. That being said, the job required creativity, patience and organizational skills necessary to maintain social distancing and enthusiasm.
