Clara Merino is a Junior Electrical and Computer Engineer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). She discovered her passion for engineering while interning at Google as a high school student. Seeing how the company reinforces innovation in a creative way really pushed her to look for the same level fun in a college. Through the project based curriculum at WPI, she has been able to work with an NGO in Paraguay and traveled to Morocco to help design a video game about fog net installation. Currently, she is President of Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Vice President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and in planning committee of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers. During her spare time, she loves to craft and help fundraise for the Make A Wish Foundation with her sisters of Chi Omega.
