My name is Ashley, but you can call me Ash. I was born in Queens, New York. Both of my parents are from Jamaica. I lived in New York basically my whole life. Currently I live in Baltimore, Maryland and I have lived here for about three years now. I went to Maryland after my tenth grade year and once I moved I dealt with my obstacles with having friends and wanting people to like me. In high school I had a lot of people that didn't like me and I never really understood why, but I know that I will have many people trying to break me down. With this obstacles and controversy I learn how to love me for me and be happy with the person I am, whether people liked me or not.Through my life I always had the passionate to want to help others and to help others further their knowledge. I go to Morgan State University and I am now currently a rising sophomore. My major is Journalism and I want to do journalism because I want to be able to reach millions to get many messages across the nation. I want to become a report and with that I can change lives through giving people information and helping them. My freshman year was the year that I really wanted to passionately change this about my school and I am passionate about having justice with all lives , but most importantly black lives that have been taken away everyday. My professor was the one that introduced me to the Innovation fellows and recommended me to be a part of leaders. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to be a part of Innovation fellows , but that changed once I went to the first meeting. After, going to the meeting I knew I wanted to be a part of this group to do more than to change but inspire people and help others through life.
