Bio

Hello there! Welcome to Asher Sprigler's UIF Bio. While it's best to start from the beginning, I have no plans to David Copperfield you, so we'll start in High School instead.

Through high school, I engaged in various extracurricular activities, namely Robotics and competitive public speaking/forensics depending on where you are in the world. These helped me build my technical and communications skills in tandem, gaining the knowledge required to leverage new technologies while also learning how to effectively communicate problems and their solutions. I also soon took leadership roles in both organizations, building a strong foundation of interpersonal and management skills.

One notable event at the end of my high school career was the Illinois Skills USA state competition in electronics technology, where I ended up taking first in the state. As a student who had been primarily trained in computer science and software engineering, I began to see the power that those had when combined with practical electronics, leading to my final major choice of Computer Engineering.

Now that I'm in college, I've spent the first year setting down a strong foundation for the rest of my academic career. As the president of our school's chapter of IEEE, I work to provide strong networking opportunities for our EECS students that help them advance professionally. As president of our school's VEXU robotics team, I not only help students gain skills they wouldn't inside the classroom but also have helped to spearhead an entrepreneurial effort to produce and sell pneumatics electronics to other teams, providing a superior product to the VEX Foundation itself. I'm currently employed by both General Electric Healthcare and Direct Supply.

In terms of hobbies, I like to build small electronics (keyboards, egg timers, etc) play Badminton, read, listen to podcasts, and run the school's Game Dev club, where I work to make sure that every student has the tools and practices they need to complete their projects.

Well, that was longer than expected, but if you made it all the way down here, thanks!
