Bio

Akiyoshi Kawano is a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Economics at Sophia University. Akiyoshi is deeply interested in Applied Statistics, especially Econometrics, which he has studied since entering Sophia University. His interest in Major League Baseball began in high school, and he developed an interest in other countries. Then, during his third year as an exchange student at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, he took a graduate course on Consumer Behavior in Sports settings, where he had the opportunity to read a paper introducing the application of Design Thinking. Then, he became convinced that Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship are essential ideas for individuals to create value in the rapidly changing society for the foreseeable future. With this background, he feels a strong sense of mission and fulfillment in realizing through the UIF program what he can contribute to improving the outstanding Sophia University that has brought so much vitality to his student life.
