Fellow:Daniela Lopez
Daniela Sofia Lopez is from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is currently a senior at the University of Dayton pursuing a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering. Daniela has co-oped with two construction companies, Bowen Engineering and Turner Construction Company, which have led her to gain a great deal of experience in the industry. On campus, Daniela works for the Women Engineering Program, coordinating professional, social, and service events for current and prospective students at the University. She is also responsible for updating all social media and the University webpage. Daniela serves as the Vice-President for the University of Dayton’s Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). She’s attended all of the regional and national conferences ever since she got involved in the Fall of 2013. During her free time, she likes being involved in the community and tutoring underprivileged children to encourage them to go into careers in STEM. After graduation, Daniela hopes to continue her studies in either Water Resources or Renewable Energy Systems.
Daniela’s passions lie in having interdisciplinary knowledge between technology, sciences, the humanities, and the arts. This drives her to be an open-minded person looking for new ways to improve current technologies and established systems. She is excited to become a University Innovation Fellow and bring extraordinary ideas to life!
